Tocchet joined the Coyotes as head coach in 2017 following three seasons and back-to-back Stanley Cup championships as an assistant coach with the Pittsburgh Penguins. As a Canadian professional coach, former player and commentator/analyst, Rick Tocchet brings on ice and bench experience to the game. Playing as a right winger, he played 18 seasons in the NHL for the Philadelphia Flyers, Pittsburgh Penguins, Los Angeles Kings, Boston Bruins, Washington Capitals and Phoenix Coyotes. The four-time NHL All-Star won the Stanley Cup with the Penguins in 1992 and played in the 1987 Stanley Cup Final with the Philadelphia Flyers. He was the head coach of the Tampa Bay Lightning for two seasons (2008-10), and during the 2010 playoffs he served as an analyst on Flyers Postgame Live on Comcast SportsNet.
