Head Coach of the Boston Bruins and former head coach of the Washington Capitals, Bruce Cassidy is known as a ‘Team First’ guy. His coaching reputation is known for putting his players first and always wanting to help them get to where they’re going.

A former NHL player, Cassidy combines his experience on the ice and behind the bench to bring to life experience in teamwork, overcoming challenges and driving for success.

As a defenseman, he played for the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League (NHL). Cassidy's NHL playing career was limited due to his knee surgeries. Yet, Cassidy would also play 36 games with Chicago during those years, scoring 4 goals and adding 13 assists for 17 points, along with 10 PIM.

In February 2017 Cassidy served as Interim Head Coach for the Bruins final 33 regular and postseason games, compiling an 18-8-1 regular season record and propelling the team to a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the first time since the 2013-14 season. Cassidy had joined the Bruins in May 2016 following eight seasons in the organization with the Providence Bruins, their top American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate.
