Dr David Carr is an Associate Professor in the Division of Emergency Medicine at the University of Toronto. He is an Emergency Physician and Clinical Investigator at the University Health Network and Mackenzie Health Hospital. He served as the Assistant Director of Risk Management at Faculty Development at University Health Network.
Sami Jo Small grew up on the outdoor hockey rinks of Winnipeg, MB. Her passion for the game was honed in the boys’ minor hockey system. As the only girl she was forced each and every day to prove that she belonged through hard work and determination. She dreamt, like her teammates, of someday playing in the NHL, but also dreamt of someday stepping on to the podium at the Olympic Games.
Dr. Murray Howe is Gordie Howe’s youngest son. He is head of Sports Medicine Imaging for Toledo Radiological Associates and Promedica Health System’s Sports Care program. An associate clinical professor at the University of Toledo Medical Center, he also serves on the University of Michigan Medical School Admissions Committee.
Lisa raced for 20 years as a professional triathlete. In the course of her career, she has won 11 IRONMAN races, 11 IRONMAN 70.3 races (1/2 IRONMANs), has several top 5 finishes at the IRONMAN World Championships, represented Canada on multiple National Teams and at the Pan American Games and was ranked top 5 in the world for a decade.

Celebrated hockey legend Ron Ellis combined skill and sporting play throughout his 15 year NHL career. Playing his entire professional career for the Toronto Maple Leafs, Ellis has become one of the most respected individuals to ever wear the “blue and white’. Ellis totalled 350 regular season and playoff goals and was a key member of the Leafs’ 1966-1967 Stanley Cup winning squad.
