At the London 2012 Summer Games, she finished as the tournament’s top scorer with six goals and led the Canadian women’s national soccer team to a bronze medal with a 1-0 win against France. She broke the record of most goals scored in the Olympics for women’s soccer and won the gold boot of the competition. Her remarkable effort as team captain and her performance in the semifinal earned her the honour of serving as Canada’s flag-bearer in the closing ceremony.

Christine is the reigning and twelve-time Soccer Canada Player of the Year. Five times she has been nominated as the FIFA World Player of the Year. She is also the recipient of a Diamond Jubilee Medal.

deVos also tasted success with Canada’s National Team. From 1999 until 2004, deVos was also the captain of Canada, leading them to their only international championship. He scored the winning goal for his country in the 2000 Gold Cup Final, was twice named to the Gold Cup All-Star team and led Canada to the 2001 Confederations Cup in Japan.

Known as a tough, intelligent player on the field, deVos has brought the same passion and commitment he demonstrated as a soccer player to his new career in the media. He currently works in television as a soccer analyst for CBC and GOL TV, where he provided television commentary for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, and continues to cover Toronto FC Games.

In the span of four years, he went from trainee to starter with Ipswich Town, a club on a tremendous rise in the English ranks. His play as keeper with Ipswich was recognized and rewarded by the club’s supporters, who honoured him as the team’s player of the year: Ipswich’s most outstanding player in 1995, and Player’s Player on two other occasions. Altogether, he spent 10 years in the English Premiership, 18 years in the top flight in England.

Craig has proudly represented our Canadian national team on a total of 56 occasions, and Canada’s pinnacle in the sport over the last decade, was named MVP when Canada won the Gold Cup Championship in 2000.

Off the pitch, Forrest has been given the opportunity to remain in the sport he loves, bringing soccer fans their fix on TSN, as a member of the Sportsnet team and analyst on Soccercentral.

Following his move to Canada, Wileman spent time as a soccer reporter, host and sports anchor at the FAN 590 in Toronto, and also worked for The Canadian Press as a soccer writer. Wileman is now the soccer host and voice of Major League Soccer on Canada’s Sports Leader, TSN.

Since 2007, Nigel has been the voice of soccer on CBC, covering Major League Soccer, the CONCACAF Champions League, and the 2010 FIFA World Cup. He also provided play by play for the Canadian Women’s national team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

He supports his CBC broadcasts with a weekly column for cbcsports.ca, and produces and co-hosts his popular “Soccer Show” for Sportsnet radio – The Fan590. His career highlights include calling the first ever goal scored by Toronto FC in Major League Soccer, and interviewing his own boyhood hero, golfer Jack Nicklaus.
