Head Coach Toronto Maple Leafs
Sheldon Keefe enters his first season behind the bench in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs as the team’s head coach. After three successful seasons as the head coach of the Sault St. Marie Greyhounds (OHL), Keefe was named the head coach of the Toronto Marlies (AHL), the top affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Keefe coached the Marlies to the franchise's first Calder Cup in 2018 and won a total of 199 games as an American Hockey League head coach. As a player, Keefe was drafted by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the second round of the 1999 NHL Entry Draft. In the 1999–2000 OHL season, Keefe led the OHL in scoring and set a Colts franchise record for most points in a season in the process, posting 121 points (48 goals, 73 assists) in 66 games. Keefe made his NHL debut on October 18, 2000 in his first professional season where he played 125 games for the Lightning.
