Jon Cooper has led the Lightning to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each of his two full seasons behind the bench, including a trip to the Stanley Cup Final in 2015. In 2014, he was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award, given annually to the NHL's top coach.

A seasoned coach, with a win record to match, Jon has the ability to translate what it takes to succeed in the NHL to success in the boardroom.

In a little more than two seasons as the Lightning's bench boss, Cooper has amassed a 100-59-20 record and his .615 winning percentage is the highest in franchise history. Cooper earned his 100th career NHL victory on April 11, 2015, making him the fifth-fastest coach among those who debuted in the league since 2000 to reach that mark.

On March 22, 2016, Cooper recorded his 143rd win as the Lightning's head coach. The win moved Cooper past Terry Crisp for 2nd all-time in wins in franchise history. On November 8, 2017, Cooper recorded his 200th career win as head coach of the Lightning. Cooper joined John Tortorella as the only coaches in franchise history to record 200 wins.

Cooper joined the Lightning after spending three seasons behind the bench of Tampa Bay's top minor league affiliates, the Norfolk Admirals (2010-12) and the Syracuse Crunch (2012-13), compiling a 133-62-26 (.661) record in 221 AHL games.
