Additionally, he led the U.S. National Under-17 Team to triumphs at the Four Nations Tournament in 2013, the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge in 2013, and the Under-17 Five Nations Tournament in 2014. Granato's expertise and dedication were instrumental in achieving the best winning percentage against collegiate opponents in NTDP history during the 2012-13 season.

As head coach of the Buffalo Sabres, Granato's motivational prowess has been on full display. Having served as both an assistant coach for the Chicago Blackhawks and an associate head coach for the University of Wisconsin's men's hockey team, he has honed his ability to inspire greatness in his players.

Granato's illustrious coaching career includes various successful stints, such as head coach of the Worcester IceCats and the Chicago Wolves, earning him the AHL's prestigious Louis A.R. Pieri Memorial Award. Moreover, his championship-winning seasons with the Peoria Rivermen in the ECHL and the Green Bay Gamblers in the USHL highlight his exceptional leadership skills.

Before his coaching journey, Granato showcased his exceptional talent as a player, both professionally and collegiately. His experience as a player, including a national championship with the University of Wisconsin, adds depth and relatability to his motivational talks.
