TSN Sports Journalist
Dave Hodge has been a sports journalist for over four decades. Hodge joined TSN in 1992 as host of TSN Inside Sports and its spinoff, Molson That's Hockey.
Hodge landed his first job in 1965 at The Daily News in Chatham, ON, as a sportswriter, and joined CFCO radio in Chatham the following year as sports director. From 1968 to 1986, Hodge worked at the country's largest radio station, CFRB in Toronto. He was the play-by-play voice of the CFL's Toronto Argonauts from 1974 to 1980.
In 1970, Hodge became the voice of the Buffalo Sabres, working as the play-by-play commentator on the TV broadcasts.
Hodge became a familiar face to Canadians from coast-to-coast as the host of Hockey Night in Canada on CBC from 1971 to1987. Between 1987 and 1990, Hodge was also the play-by-play voice on The Canadian Football Network, providing league-wide coverage of all teams. In 1991, Hodge worked as the play-by-play announcer for the NHL's Minnesota North Stars.
Hodge hosts his own 30-minute weekly sports talk show, TSN The Reporters with Dave Hodge. This no-holds-barred live roundtable sports debate show delves deep into the heart of the world of sports and tackles the week's most pressing - and controversial - issues.
Hodge also provides commentary and analysis for TSN's extensive NHL coverage and hosts Maple Leafs regional telecasts on TSN.
Hodge is a two-time Gemini Award winner; he won in 1992 for host of TSN Inside Sports and in 1995 for best Canadian Sports broadcaster. In 2008, TSN The Reporters with Dave Hodge was nominated for a Gemini Award in the Best Sports Analysis or Commentary Program, Series or Segment.
