Hayley Wickenheiser

Two Time MVP of the Gold Medal Canadian Women's Hockey Team

Hayley Wickenheiser's talent is unsurpassed. Named the MVP of Canada's gold medal-winning team at both the 2002 Salt Lake City and 2006 Torino Winter Olympics, Hayley Wickenheiser is rightfully described as the greatest female hockey player in the world.

At the tender age of 15-years-old, Hayley was chosen for the Canadian Women's National Team. She has since led the Canadian Women's National squad to four gold medals at the Women's World Hockey Championships, a Silver medal at the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, a Gold medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City and a Gold medal as the 2006 Torino Winter Olympic Games. She has been honoured with the title of Most Valuable Player at the 1996 Esso Women's Hockey Championship and has been named a First Team All-Star in all four of her World Championship appearances. Hayley Wickenheiser has earned the praise and admiration of players and coaches alike.

On January 11, 2003, Wickenheiser took an enormous step forward in her on-ice career when she became the first woman ever to register a point in a men's professional hockey game. In 2003, the 24-year-old forward scored a goal and set up two assists while playing in the Finnish second-division club, Kirkkonummi Salamat.

Wickenheiser, who has competed in both winter and summer Olympics - women's hockey and softball - served as the CBC Sports analyst for softball at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
Hayley's personal motto is "Excellence and Professionalism".
