For the past several months, a colleague of mine has been spending much of his spare time preparing for the launch of an amazingly unique Twitter movement in support of Alzheimer’s disease research (his father is currently battling the disease). The idea is called “A Million Tweets to Remember” (1MTweets) to properly honor their memories. It launches today – September 21st – World Alzheimer’s Day, and any help is needed to get the word out. Adam van Koeverden wins bronze medal

Adam van Koeverden exorcised some demons at the world canoe and kayak championships on August 17. Almost exactly a year after his disappointing eighth-place finish at the 2008 Olympics in the 1,000-metre kayak race, van Koeverden won the bronze medal after setting the early pace in the K-1 1,000 final.

Captures gold and silver at World Championship tune-up

Olympian Adam Van Koeverden finished with gold in the men’s K-1 1,000 and silver in the K-1 8,000 at the World Cup canoe and kayak circuit in Racic, Czech Republic on Saturday, May 9. Van Koeverden is preparing for the world championships in August in Dartmouth, NS, where he says it will be important for the Canadian paddlers to flex their muscles before a home crowd.
